Hump day... photo dump day!

Do you document your life in photos? I do! I love photography and I try to document our day by day happenings. Here are some of my latest photos, taken with my iPhone. Most of the time I' too lazy to get my DSLR Canon camera.

Are you a shitty mom? am I??

My answer is sometimes... almost every week day! This is long, so brace yourselves!! ;-)

Before I had Matty, I sat with my boss and inquired about flexibility to come early-leave early. I wanted to be a present mom, not a kiss-you-before-bed, daddy fed and bathe you already kind of mom. That worked for maybe 2-3 months with Matty and about 6 months after having Ben. It is very difficult to drop whatever I'm doing at work by 4-4:30 and go home. So, almost everyday I come to work early and leave late. By the time I get home, the boys have eaten and I'm there maybe to hang out with them for 15-20 minutes before is bath and bed time.

I often feel guilty about not being there with the boys more during the week. I have at least an hr commute to and from work if there's not traffic, I work hard all day, and most days I feel like I don't have enough time for my family. I was actually finishing some classes I have left for my degree and had to stop because I was exhausted and running on fumes every single day.

Last week I was on my commute back home after a shitty day at work. It was almost 7pm and I was just leaving, I was feeling terrible... I had a bad day, I was tired, and I wasn't going to be home for bath and bed time. You know that day when you leave work and you say f@ck this, I don't want to come back to this place tomorrow? One of those, just sucked!! Then I turn the radio to XM and the Perry Peltz show (never heard of before) came on and they were talking about parenting -- quality vs quantity. I thought, oh shit, this is a sign... so I kept listening.

They had the editor from Working Mother magazine (I have a subscription), and few ladies that called themselves the Sh*tty Moms who were pretty hilarious. They were talking about how many of us working mothers have guilt and concern about the amount of time we spend with our kids and how studies have shown that what matters is the quality and not the quantity, etc. The Sh***y Moms have a book - I plan to buy the audio book if available soon!

Warning -- explicit, they have potty mouth! :-)

They Shitty Moms were pretty hilarious. They explained that a shitty mom is happy, and someone that knows she is not perfect. That makes mistakes, doesn't sweat the small stuff, can laugh at a bad moment, and knows that what is important is that we are present when we are with out kids. They were talking to me ---- that made my day!! I know I'm a great mom when I'm with my boys, I give them quality when we are together and I love them to pieces. They are my heart and my life, and I know that even when I'm not present every minute of the day with them they are going to be alright.

P.S. I have to give a shout out to dadda. Because for not being 100% on board with having kids from the beginning, he is now a supper protective papa bear that loves the boys unconditionally... and the boys love their dadda with all they have. I don't know about you, but seeing my hubs be a loving father is the sexiest thing on earth!

Long time no see, let's do it the 50 Shades way!!

My honest opinion about Fifty Shades of Grey... I liked it. I went with low expectations because I've heard horror stories from everybody, but I listened to the books (which are somewhat poorly written) and I wanted to see it. If you read all 3 books, you know there is a story and not just sex.

Ok, here it goes... It isn't about the sex, please don't expect porn because you are going to be sadly disappointed; it's R rated and it is not Cinemax. Is not amazing acting, I thought they were pretty decent; but this is not an Oscar worthy movie. Yes, she laughs every times they are going to get busy, but think about it... she is "inexperienced", it was more of a nervous laugh; like shit, what did I get myself into. The movie is more about them meeting and their relationship evolving... very little sex, and I'm ok with that. I thought it followed the book as much as any movie can in 2hrs, no movie will ever be a play by play of the book. The cast: A lot of people have issues with the way she looks. Ana is supposed to look like that, homely, not well kept, she is not wealthy like Kate, she is shy, and insecure... so, I think Dakota is a good representation of Anastasia. I thought Jamie Dornan was good as Christian, although, I think that Matt Bomer would have been amazing! Talking about Matt Bomer, the trailer for Magic Mike 2, hotter than 50 Shades! You're welcome!!  ;-)

These are my 2 cents!!

You know you are a mami when...

when your 2y/o asks in a full sentence "mami, I want to watch Airplanes. Please" and you suck it up and watch it for the 2nd time within 3 hours.
